Request an Official Transcript
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) requires that all transcript requests be authorized by the person to whom the record belongs, either in writing or by a secured electronic authorization. Requests by telephone will not be accepted. The issuance of partial transcripts is not permitted.

The University of Maine has partnered with Parchment to provide secure delivery of official transcripts in both electronic and paper formats. These options offer the ability to track the status of your request.
Electronic Delivery (recommended for the fastest service)
Before choosing this option, verify the recipient accepts electronic transcripts. A valid email address is required for all electronic orders.
- Cost: $7.00 + applicable sales tax.
- Transcripts requested using this option are typically available to the recipient within 4 hours from the time they are uploaded to Parchment.
- Electronic transcripts must be sent directly to the third party in order to retain “official” status.
- Please note that the recipient’s access to the electronic transcript will expire 30 days after it’s been created.
Print Delivery through Parchment
Each transcript printed by Parchment will have the official seal of the University of Maine and the signature of the Registrar. The complete mailing address for each recipient is required for all print orders.
- Cost: $7.00 + applicable sales tax and shipping.
- Orders are processed and mailed within 1-2 business days using USPS first class mail.
- Orders sent to U.S. domestic addresses are typically delivered within 5-7 business days.
- Orders sent to international addresses may require up to 21 days.
- Express mail services, to domestic or international addresses, are available using FedEx.
Print Delivery through MaineStreet
Current students, or students who were enrolled within the past 5 years with access to MaineStreet, can request official transcripts through the MaineStreet Student Center.
- Cost: Free!
- Limit of 10 transcripts per request.
- Sent via U.S. Postal Service within 3 business days and may take 5-7 additional business days for delivery.
- NOTE: Electronic transcripts are not available using this option.
To access the self-service transcript request in Classic MaineStreet:
- Login to your MyCampus Portal.
- Under the “MaineStreet” section, select “Classic Student Center”.
- From your Student Center, click the “other academic” drop down menu and select “Transcript: Request Official”.

Request Transcripts in Person
Transcripts may be requested in person by visiting the Office of Student Records during normal business hours.
- Cost: Free!
- Limit of 10 transcripts
- Valid government-issued photo identification or MaineCard required.
