Additional information about transcript ordering
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 requires that all transcript requests received by mail or fax be signed and dated by the person to whom the record belongs. Note that transcript requests placed from MaineStreet DO NOT require a signature. Telephone and e-mail requests CANNOT be accepted. There is no fee for transcripts, but there is a limit of ten transcripts per request. (The Office of
Student Records reserves the right to limit unreasonable requests.)
Upon receipt of the request, official transcripts are normally mailed within three business days. Processing of your official transcript request may vary due to circumstances beyond our control. The Office of Student Records makes every effort to speed these important documents to your intended recipients.
Official transcripts cannot be faxed; however, we can fax your unofficial transcript, but still require a written transcript request. In lieu of a mailing address, please provide a return fax number. Current and recent UMaine students may create their own un-official transcripts in Mainestreet.
Name Changes: To change the name on your academic record, you must present to the Office of Student Records a copy of your signed social security card indicating your current name.
Please Note: University policy prohibits issuing transcripts (official or unofficial) to any student indebted to the University. The issuance of partial transcripts is also strictly prohibited.
